Veteren's Day

On Veteran's day the third grade (Reagan) at my kids elementary school put on a program for our local veterans.  If you knew someone who was a veteran, you were asked to invite them.  My kids were really excited to invite Great Grandpa (C.O.) Romans.  Every third grader had a small speaking part (I don't think Grandpa could hear anything of what was said) and they sang patriotic songs between.  Part of the band from Mountain View high school came and played along with the elementary orchestra. Near the end of the program the read the names of the visiting veterans, told who they were related to and asked them to stand up so we could all clap for them.  It was touching. there were grandpa's, great grandpa's, uncles and Dad's of children in the school.  There were only about 8 veterans there and my kids said they felt like celebrities the rest of the day. So many people talked to them about how cool it was they brought their grandpa.
*Maddox rand off with his class before I could take this picture. He thought he would be in trouble if he came back to say Hi- He wouldn't have.
